Camden Sports Club has a proud history of providing the sport of Lawn Bowls to the Camden district. Camden Sports Club is a fully licensed premise offering a full bar with popular beers on tap. Relax in a friendly atmosphere and enjoy a refreshing beverage. Our facilities include Keno, TAB, and a Bistro serving delicious meals. We also offer function room hire, entertainment, trivia, badge draws, raffles, lawn bowls, barefoot bowls, and beach parties. Visit us and experience the vibrant sports club atmosphere. Our Humble Beginnings

In the 1990’s after a long and successful period of operation, Camden Bowling Club fell on hard times and was taken over by Wests Leagues Club (now Wests Group).

Wests tenure at Camden did not progress due to many challenges least of which was the many law variations and revisions. At this point, the Club was destined to close.

In 2002 a steering committee was formed with Terry Gordon as Chairman to form Camden Sports Club. The Club consisted of five Sporting Clubs: Camden Rugby League, Camden Cricket Club, Camden Tennis Club, and Camden Men’s and Women’s Bowling Clubs. The objective was to sponsor all of these Sporting Clubs, however as a result of many unprecedented events the Club has never been able to honor this agreement.

Eventually, funds were raised to pay out Wests by the sale of Debentures and a Bank Guarantee from a prominent local businessman. Then there was a new set of circumstances. The Club had been taken over by a larger Club that now wanted to withdraw. This required an act of Parliament by the NSW Government and this was eventually obtained on 3rd February 2004.

The next day, 4th February 2004 Camden Sports Club was opened and will celebrate its 21st birthday in February 2025.
